West Health takes most insurance and walk- in, cash patients are also welcome. We offer physical examination to check the status of your overall health. You do not have to be sick to request an exam. It provides an opportunity for you to ask your primary care physician (PCP) questions about your health or to discuss any changes or problems that you have noticed regarding your health. There are several tests that can be performed during your physical examination. Depending on your age, medical or family history, it may be recommended for you to additional testing.

Supervising Physician John C. Weaver, Jr. M.D.
Dr. Weaver attended Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. and received a B. S. in Chemistry. After graduating he joined the Army and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. After three years of service during the Vietnam war, he received a honorable discharge as a 1st Lieutenant. There after he entered Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and earned a M.D. degree.
He completed an Internship and Residency at Harlem Hospital Medical Center in N.Y.C. Dr. Weaver left New York and moved to California and went into private practice in internal medicine. In 1997 he started a medical weight control center in Los Angeles and has delivered quality medical care and medical weight control ever since.
Dr. Weaver is currently the supervising physician for West Health Medical Group and works with cardiac patients using EECP which is a non invasive treatment for coronary artery disease and is a strong proponent of adjunctive medical weight control and lifestyle changes to decrease risk factors for heart disease in overweight patients.
Dr. Weaver has had problems with weight and understands the challenges that exists with maintaining a healthy weight, therefore he makes it a priority to individualize each program to suit each patient unique needs.
